Cristina Dinella Makowicz brings over ten years of experience as a versatile pianist, vocalist and music director to teaching students of all ages and experience levels.
As a pianist, she holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance, and has built a career accompanying both professionals and students, including performances at Carnegie Hall, 54 Below and two Off-Broadway shows. Cristina has also been playing organ for churches for 8 years, most recently as Music Director and Organist at Holy Family Catholic Church in Marietta, Georgia. Cristina encourages all of her piano students to become independent musicians, and to perform and collaborate frequently. Informed by the pedagogies of Music Learning Theory and Suzuki, her piano students will have the opportunity to develop their natural musicianship, through active listening, playing by ear, reading music, improvising and composing their own music.
